Introduction
My name is Darien, I’m 23 years old, and I’m someone who finds joy in both quiet moments and high-energy passions. My favorite color is sunset orange, which fits perfectly with my love for stargazing and appreciating the little details in life. I’m huge into sports and music—I love watching and playing sports, and if you ask my roommates, they’ll tell you I’m always playing music. I’m originally from Orlando, Florida, but I’ve lived in Alaska for a long time now, and it’s easily the most beautiful place I’ve ever called home. I’m a full-time student who also works full-time, so when I do get free time, I usually enjoy being at home since I’m pretty introverted and a bit of a homebody. That said, I do like to get out and have fun with friends every now and then.
Music has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember, starting back in childhood and continuing into adulthood. I’m mostly a listener, but music is constantly playing around me, whether I’m studying, relaxing at home, or just going about my day, I always have something on. I listen to a wide range of music depending on my mood, and it helps me focus, unwind, and feel more connected to the moment. I enjoy being in spaces where music is performed, and I recently attended a concert in Tampa, Florida, while visiting for the summer. Experiencing music live is completely different from listening through earbuds or headphones—the energy, sound, and atmosphere make it feel more real and memorable.

singer, songwriter, vocalist, and all-around musician.
You have good taste! Orange is one of my favorite colors too and life is definitely better with music.
ReplyDeleteWow! What a performance! So many timbre shifts in her voice, and then that super long sustained note. That's why we love great singers.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely the same way when it comes to listing to music constantly, I can't remember the last day I wasn't listening to music. That's a great photo, sunsets always make everything prettier.
ReplyDeleteI also listen to music depending on what mood I'm in. Also great pick with Raye, she is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful picture you provided, along with the link to RAYE's performance. I've been seeing her around social media recently, but now I feel inspired to really give her music a good listen so thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Darien!
ReplyDeleteI also love stargazing. There’s just something about space, stars, the moon, etc. that is just so extraordinary to me. What is your favorite sport to watch? What about to play? Pensacola, Florida has my heart! I love it there. The crystal blue water is so beautiful. I have never been to Oregon or even thought about visiting honestly, but your picture makes me want to visit for an epic hike! Who did you see in Tampa? Concerts used to be one of my favorite things to go do as a teen! There’s a few people that I would LOVE to see live for their energy way more than their music. Going from 3-4 concerts a summer to not having gone to one in over 10 years, I think I’m having withdrawals! Hahaha!
I hope we have a great term!
Music also helps me feel connected to the moment! That's so wonderful how much you listen to music throughout the day, and that performance of Oscar Winning Tears is phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteI also agree that experiencing music first hand at a concert feels more immersive than just hearing it through headphones, because you can feel it resonating through your body.
ReplyDeleteI can agree with the liking for stargazing, I love sitting in my partners truck and looking through the sun roof up at the stars while listening to music. It's easily one of the best ways to relax for myself.
